Coral Springs Dental Center offers professional sedation dentistry methods to help ease our clients through any dental procedure they require.Whether you are coming into the office for a routine cleaning appointment or a more complex reason such as a dental surgery procedure sedation dentistry can help ease any fear you may have. We can administer the proper sedation dentistry method and dosage for you and your procedure ensuring that you will feel little to no discomfort during the duration of the work. Coral Spring Dental Center is certified to administer four types of sedation dentistry methods to our customers for different needs. Our sedation procedures include:
A local anesthetic is the most common form of dental sedation. This method involves injections administered by your dentist in order to numb a portion of the mouth. Local anesthetics are commonly used by doctors to block pain reception in a specific body region. With the use of local anesthesia patients are able to remain conscious but still feel added comfort during the procedure. It’s not uncommon for dentists to use or recommend local anesthetic use in conjunction with another form of sedation dentistry.Nitrous Oxide, also known as laughing gas, is administered during inhalation sedation dentistry. This allows the dentist to provide patients with minimal sedation. They will remain conscious during this form of sedation dentistry as well but will be in a much more relaxed state. The use of nitrous oxide is very common during minor dental surgery procedures as well as regular cleanings.Oral Sedation is typically used prior to oral surgery procedures. A pill is given to patients with proper dosage determined by the doctor. Sedation under this method will range from mild to moderate. Most patients remain awake and those who do not can be easily woken if need be.Intravenous sedation is the strongest form of sedation dentistry. Powerful sedatives are administered directly into the patient's bloodstream using an IV needle during this method. Patients are closely monitored by a proficient anesthesiologist to ensure proper dosage. This method is reserved for more complicated procedures and surgeries. This method involves the patients “going under” during the procedure. Coral Springs Dental Center is committed to offering all dental services under one roof. We understand the time constraints of working schedules and want to make dental services readily available for families needing multiple specialists for different family members with specific needs.
