Tooth Extraction Doesn't Have to Be Intimidating
Oftentimes there is an element of fear or even terror involved in the process of tooth extraction. You are, after all, removing something attached to your mouth, something you daily walk around walk around with that you may or may not have planned to spend the rest of your life with. However, sometimes it is extremely important for health of you and your mouth to buckle down and follow through with the process. This never needs to be a fear inducing experience, as once again, your neighborhood dental experts are here to assist you in every way possible including through the methods of sedation dentistry.
- No more nerves- perhaps the mere anticipation of tooth extraction is just eating away at your nerves? Lessen the sometimes even worse experience of pre-dental tooth extraction nerves, and decide on sedation dentistry.
- Multiple options- there are numerous types of sedation dentistry to try when you go in for a tooth extraction, so if you fear a certain type of sedation, we at Coral Springs Dental Center offer four entirely different types in order you to make a selection based your comfort level. We understand plenty of adults often skip trips to the dentist out of fear due to bad experiences or interactions as a child, or even in your adult life! Coral Springs Dental Center is here to turn those terrible memories into good experiences through the solid knowledge base and care we take to be sure you are comfortable, safe, and happy throughout your tooth extraction (or for any dental procedure you may need to have!).
To go into the types of sedation dentistry you may request upon the event of a tooth extraction, there are actually four available- local anesthetic, inhalation sedation, oral sedation, and intravenous sedation. Local anesthetics are placed around specific areas of the body that absolutely need to be out of pain- in this instance, it would of course be your tooth extraction that would require the local anesthesia, right where the tooth being extracted is. Luckily (and wonderfully on your part!) it is something that you can go right home with, though of course not overall as completely effective as the next three. Inhalation sedation completely puts you at rest, and is great for adults and children alike. In only a matter of minutes, you’ll happily feel as though you’re floating on a cloud, and most importantly, lose the anxiety that comes with getting a tooth extraction. You just breathe this treatment in and go through your procedure with ease. Oral sedation on the other hand can be taken can be taken under the tongue, nose or veins and are a very common procedure. Last, intravenous is given right through an IV, just as you would see at any hospital. As you can see, there are plenty of options available for anyone who is unsure or down right terrified of a dentist visit, especially with something that can be a little frightening such as tooth extraction. Don’t let it keep you from getting the treatment you need, and come visit Coral Springs Dental Center where we offer a relaxed environment to keep you comfortable and happy. Your smile is safe with us!
